A strange name indeed, with no apparent connections with commerce.
What is Single’s Day and what does it have to do with shopping?
Single’s day date is 11.11 ( 11th of November, each year) which has a hidden meaning of its own.
The tradition was started a few years ago by college students in China to celebrate the fact they were single. And to help cope with this fact, they were gathering in social activities between “singles” or even go on blind dates to find the one.
If westerners would make such a day, it would probably be called “Forever Alone Day” and it would imply playing games and eating fastfood all day.
This singles’ movement shortly become very popular with the younger demographics of China and it even spread to other countries.
Seeing this as an opportunity, the huge E-commerce website aliexpress.com has organised a huge price drop in most products during this period.
Many Chinese ecommerce stores followed the example, as the sales have reached skyhigh amounts.
Why Chinese Single’s Day is better than Black Friday?
This chart proves that the Single’s Day sales greatly outdo the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales (US) .
The Chinese buyers are very smart with how they invest money, so they always tend to look for the best offers.
The average internet user is said to spend about $220 on Singles Day alone and mostly to buy consumer electronics.
The main advantages of getting your products from China E-stores are that the prices go way lower than the local shops in your area or even bigger fish like Amazon.
What are the best Chinese online stores to shop on Single’s day?
Most of the biggest online retailers have pretty much the same prices when it comes to single item buying. There are benefits however when buying in bulk (for reselling purposes).
Aliexpress is a great website and so is Alibaba, but I found their customer support lacks a great deal and I frequently had problems with orders and trying to reach out to them (especially in high traffic times).
My favorite choice for everything consumer electronics (and especially drones, duuh) is Gearbest.com
Not only they have top notch prices, but they also have some incredible customer support with the fastest service I’ve seen.
They are very professional and handle big traffic spikes well enough so my orders were always arriving in time.
A few months ago I oredered 2 quadcopters, one from Gearbest and one from Banggood.
I also had a few custom requests for them to write on the package that is to be delivered and banggood did not comply to what I requested. Gearbest.com on the other hand made sure to deliver things just as I wanted and quicly replied to the support ticket, making them my choice from then on.
Here are some drones with reduced prices available on Gearbest.com
I couldn’t end the article without mentioning some drones you can get yourself at a reduced price on their website.
You shouldn’t limit yourself to drones, however, as there are great offers for most products like phones, tablets and all other kind of tech gear and accessories.
These being said, I’ll present you a list of pretty cheap drones that I like, which now will be even LOWER priced than before.
BONUS: if you want 18% off drones that don’t have a price reduction enter the coupon code “dronesbuyer18off”
The Pterosaurs RC Quadcopter
A very kid friendly and super entertaining quadcopter that’s sure to make your kid love you more for buying A REAL FREAKING FLYING DINOSAUR.
JXD 512W Mini UFO Remote Control Quadcopter
This thing is pretty much like your personal bee spy with a camera attached.
The camera is only 0.3 mega pixels, but it’s more than enough for a drone so small.
JXD 509G, a cheap version of the Yuneec Q500 4K
Comes with more advanced features like altitude hold, a better 2MP camera and headless mode.
The looks are very similar to one of the drones made by Yuneec, but I’m not even mad, they did a great job copying it.
Most quadcopters will be reduced by price, so don’t forget to check everything out!
JXD 510W 2.4GHz WIFI FPV RC Drone
Not only does it look badass, it also comes with a wifi camera with First Person View option.
And it’s pretty much the opposite of the small UFO drone from before when it comes to size (pretty damn big that is).
